Intro

Introduction

Pangkor Laut is a privately owned island located three miles off the West Coast of Malaysia along the Straits of Malacca. This piece of paradise has been 2 million years in the making, and here you will find one of the world’s premier resorts nestling in the shade of forest giants as old as the land.

You will find no other resorts – just secluded bays curled around pristine beaches, evening skies woven with colour, and a deep sense of serenity reserved exclusively for our guests. A combination of luxury, natural beauty and age-old wilderness woven together to produce an environment where peace and magically memorable moments are the currency.

Of the island's 300 acres, only a fraction has been developed to house the Resort and its eight Estates. Wooden buildings blend seamlessly into the forest as if nature had been the architect dictating how walls curve around foliage, and roofs open up to allow trees to continue on their journey to the sky.

Nature is respected here, almost revered, and it rewards visitors in ways that simply need to be experienced.

Activity

Activity

Pangkor Laut Resort offers many activities for guests. A centerpiece of the Resort is Emerald Bay, considered by independent travel consultants as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. If you feel more adventurous, you may accompany the Resort's resident naturalist on his daily trek through the rainforest. The Concierge will also be delighted to help you with suggestions for excursions and island-hopping opportunities.

Fishing
Fish at one of the finest angling grounds for barracuda, garoupa, red and white snapper and stingray or opt for the Fishing And Picnic Package for two on the beach.

Pulau Sembilan Adventure
Pulau Sembilan is Malay for 'Nine Islands'. Cruise in style onboard a teakwood oriental junk to the nine islands that give this destination its name. We drop our anchor in a sheltered cove and it is up to you to tailor your day; snorkel, swim, or go ashore to laze on the empty beach. A sumptuous barbeque lunch is served on a secluded beach, accompanied by refreshing non-alcoholic beverages to quench your tropical thirst.

Chartered Cruises
Two luxury yachts are available for charter should you wish to explore the Straits of Malacca and the surrounding islands. Regardless of whether you opt for a cruise to nowhere or onwards to a specific destination, you'll enjoy breathtaking views and have the option to drop anchor at any point to fish, swim, or laze on deck to soak up the sun.

Sunset Cruise
This leisurely sunset excursion provides the perfect setting for a romantic evening. Cruise around the Island on board the Resort's tongkang-style teakwood boat. The boat will anchor at Emerald Bay where you will enjoy refreshments while you witness one of the world's most beautiful sunsets. From there the Captain will sail off to a quiet cove where you'll be served a delicious four-course dinner.

Golf
Guests staying at Pangkor Laut will enjoy special privileges at the Royal Teluk Rubiah Country Club, which is approximately 15 minutes away from Lumut. This club offers an 18-hole golf course. There is a dress code that has to be adhered to.
